Drive Help For My Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop…?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop and my d: drive stopped working…there was a disk in the drive and I was able to pop it open via the small hole and remove the disk and when I close it back the green light comes on briefly then fades back out…I wonder if the drive is bad or if I just need to update a driver?!? I dont think the drive is shot since the light still comes on so that leads me to believe its still working but I’m not a computer whiz either. I went to the dell support website to look for a driver update but was unsure of which I needed. Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance

Right click on “my computer”, select “properties”, click the “hardware” tab at the top, select “device manager” and then on the right side find your cd/dvd drive and right click it, select “uninstall”. Restart your computer. It will load the default drivers and you will be good to go.
