Dropping Internet Connection?
I have compaq presario laptop and use a motorola surfboard cable broadband modem and sometimes I lose internet connection and have to re-boot. Also when this happens laptop sometimes wont shut down. I recently formatted and reinstalled windows and all the compaq drivers. Is it a problem with the pc or modem or the cable company. It tends to happen when I am downloading large files using P2P or bittorrents.

I have had this problem before, in my case it was a faulty ram module. It might be different for you but it wouldn’t hurt to get it checked out.
