I Just Bought A Xp Laptop And The Audio Driver Is Uninstalled?
It looks like it is a Conexant HD Audio Venice 5045 Driver, but I’ve gone to the hp site and downloaded the XP Conexant Driver they have. When I try to install, it gives me this message: Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver.
Any ideas as to what is going on here?

Most laptop companies have a utility that can identify it’s products. If it is a HP product run that online utility and it should bring up all the specific drivers that are meant for that laptop. Also, sometimes the audio device may have been disabled in the bios… so check the bios to make sure that it wasn’t accidentally disabled.
Hope that helps!
Go to system devices and find the soundcard. Delete it. Restart your computer and let the computer detect and re-install the sound card. The chances are it will find the right driver for you – allow it to go onto internet if necessary and get a driver (although it probably won’t be needed since it will find the one on C drive.)
If this is a brand new purchase, Return it as defective. All drivers and devices installed at purchase should be working and functional.
If this is a recent purchase, Resotre it to Original with the Recovery CD.
If that is not an Option, you should also have a Recovery option for OS and original Programs only – Software Recovery.
First thing Hp drivers run on only hp computers and other if you know the company name and model number so directly download it from the company site
try downloading it directly, like from Conexant, which i’ve never heard of btw
