My Laptop Says There Is No Wlan Device Installed?

My HP Compaq Presario C500 510 says that there are no WLAN devices and Sound devices installed. It was fine untill i installed XP (downgrade from Vista). I have tried downloading the drivers and installing them but it won’t let me since “there are no devices”
Any help is appreciated.
